Building cloud infrastructure and side projects from Norway

I have spent 13 years in IT, most of them figuring out how to make infrastructure less painful. These days I specialise in Azure, Terraform, and the kind of DevOps work that keeps enterprise systems running without anyone noticing.

After hours, I put on headphones and build things for fun. Right now that means TidWerk, a time-tracking app for consultants, and experimenting with MCP servers to see how AI agents can actually be useful in a developer workflow. Yes, I am that kind of nerd.

The Day Job

I am a consultant, which means I get dropped into different organisations to solve whatever infrastructure problem is keeping someone up at night. Sometimes that is designing a new Azure platform from scratch. Other times it is untangling years of accumulated tech debt. Most days it involves Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and convincing people that automation is worth the upfront investment.

I have worked in regulated industries like finance and healthcare where getting security wrong is not an option. That taught me to think carefully about architecture decisions and document the reasoning, not just the implementation.

Background

Over the years I have been a Tech Lead, Platform Engineer, IaC Developer, and Cloud Operator. The common thread is infrastructure: building it, automating it, and helping teams work with it effectively. I have led small teams, contributed to large platform projects, and spent more time than I would like debugging networking issues between Azure and on-premises systems.

Tools I Reach For

Azure Terraform Kubernetes GitHub Actions TypeScript Svelte Python Go MCP Servers
